What I'm about to write reminds me of a silly, get-to-know-you game that I played at a church social. We were going around the circle telling everyone our name, where we were from, what we did, etc and the special question was "where would you most like to live?". People said the requisite "on a beach" and some people said SoCal (which I thought was funny), and then we got to someone who said that there is nowhere else they would rather live. Atlanta was the place they wanted to be at that moment. Someone made the comment "that person is living the dream". And I haven't forgotten it.
A couple of good friends of mine from college are "living the dream". They graduated APU and went to Jet Propulsion Laboratories, grad school for art history and a big movie studio in Hollywood. But they wanted to do something that was bigger than themselves and they wanted to help alleviate some of the suffering and injustice in the world. So Shelby, Steve, and Tamara started working on Anti-body, a fair trade, organic line of body care products. They began producing it in Steve and Shelby's garage and, actually, Steve's lab is still there. Tamara visits Africa often to work with the co-op that makes the ingredients for the products. These three people are making a difference and we can help them. Check out this video about Steve's transition from physicist to scientist or the various videos on the Anti-body website for more information.
You can purchase Anti-body product online or you can now go to certain Whole Food stores in the South, including Atlanta. The Atlanta area Whole Food stores carrying the Anti-body products are in Sandy Springs on Roswell Rd, Briarcliff and LaVista near Emory, and in Marrietta on Powers Ferry. I told Tamara that they needed to get into the Buckhead store too, so we'll see how that goes! Thank you to everyone for helping this great business! Please share any other opportunities to help.
